I asked what I could do in Denmark without a car, my overall impression is I should have known better and avoided Denmark. Not very welcoming staff I would say.

The staff at Walpole Visitor Centre are extremely helpful and knowledgeable, lots of information available plus clean toilets and a (paid) hot shower if you need one.
